Man's Inhumanity to Man

i wrote your friend, asked if i could send him info and pics and videos

you know what mike?

what is really hurting me, causing me such distress, in my opinion, is not lyme or alien organisms

it is the terrible treatment that i and so many people i have come to love have received at the hands of the medical profession, including mental health, and at the hands of familes and friends and coworkers

the stress of living minute by minute with lyme or any physical thing that causes suffering and debilitation is bad

but - when the ones suffering like this receive not support from loved ones but hostility and disbelief, when we seek medical help from a profession that is now ruled by insurance and drug companies, and we receive disdain, hatred, threats, persecution, indifference - this is what is destroying our lives

no alien organism (and i stand by my belief that there are indeed organisms not from earth involved here, along with many earthly things) could harm us the way doctors, dermatologists, psychiatrists and those we have been personally close to and trusted, have

sure, it hurts to have doctors refuse to examine you when you beg them in tears for help, to be kicked out of their office on your first visit after they absolutely refuse to even look at the lesions in your skin or address any other symptoms, it hurts to see that immediate look of scorn, disbelief, that look that says "here is another nut"

but this pales in hurtful comparison to spouses, family, lifelong friends, coworkers who have always respected one and thought highly of one, who also immediately take on that same look of scorn, disbelief, etc

it hurts to be committed, threatened by mental health staff, forced to take psychiatric drugs that make one want to commit suicide, but the worst hurt is that you are there because, when you began to see things that were not right, when you began to physically suffer in ways that were torturous, when you began to see your beloved pets suffer this way, and when you tried to turn to help from loved ones, they turned on you with hatred and put you away

it hurts more to know a truth and meet rejection at every turn, than to suffer the real effects of that truth

many of us know that lyme disease is a political hot potato

many of us know that our government has done things to its citizens that are straight out of hell in their wrong

but, many more people do not know - they will not listen - they do not want to know - ignorance is bliss

life is so stressful now that most people just struggle to get by

they do not have the emotional energy to listen when someone yells that something out of the ordinary is terribly wrong, they do not want to deal with it (and neither do we who have no choice, whether from illness, ethics or integrity), they turn away and turn us off

and we remain, knowing and suffering and still caring about them despite their lack of care for us

we remain caring about earth, while they ignore it all

this is what hurts

to the depths of a soul

as an example, plum island is real - it exists

most people have no idea that it exists, let alone what goes on there

they do not want to know

it is too hard, too much, too awful

cnn now tells everyone about downer animals after the mad cow disease scare

downer animals are those too ill to get up, alive not dead, who are piled into heaps with dead and rotting animals, sometimes for days - why?

it is cheaper to keep them alive than to kill them and put them out of their misery

the people who do this do not care about the misery and torment of anyone or anything

but these poor, innocent animals when finally dead, are put into food for the animals we consume

local dairies where i live have been found to be feeding downer animals to dairy cattle

if this does not tear the public apart, what will?

the Bible says a society's worth is measured in part by the way it treats its animals

if this is the case, which it is, my soul, my heart, my mind is sickened beyond curing

we spend billions of dollars on many things, and we have senior citizens dying of heat and cold because they cannot pay their utility bills, we have homeless people in view of our white house, shooed away - they are "unpleasant to see"

we blame them, they are at fault, so why worry about them?

this is so easy - to blame the vets, people who once worked and contributed, women who were abused and ran, on and on - easier to blame them, hate them, lift our own egos by putting them down, than to actually CARE

i do not want to be in this world, but i am

i do not fit here

i care about all life

i have a pacific male tree frog who has come into my home and lived through winters in my house plants three years in a row

in spring, i find him and put him outside so he can mate

for three years, he has found his way back in when it gets cold

i am more impressed making frog noises back and forth with him than i would be talking to the president or anyone else who is "important"

i put spiders outside, i do not kill them

or i just leave them be

i have been known to feed them by hand

i do not spray, or fog, etc

a batch of tiny newly hatched spiders all in a shrub is a beautiful thing to me

i do not buy into the lie that human beings should have superiority over all things, as we have not shown ourselves to act wisely in this

it saddnes me that animals as large as elephants, gorillas, on and on, are slaughtered at our hands - i wish they would rebel against us

the people who eat these animals, "bush meat" make me sick

i have no compassion for them, or for politicians, or drug and insurance companies, or doctors who are only concerned with themselves

if i have to pick who to feel compassion for, it is not human beings

too many people, who know that "you can't take it with you" want it all now and here

too many people have lost sight of the spiritual side of things, and i do not mean organized religion

i believe that all things reflect one another

nature reflects it all

we have destroyed beyond repair rainforests, the waters, the land - and now we all watch tv about new illnesses, new things (that are not new but have lost their place because of us) and we worry about what to eat, drink, breathe, wear, buy

you know what?

so what?

we deserve it

i include myself as i am a human being, but i am in the minority who still gives a damn and knows this caring will amount to nothing agaisnt the train of power that is coming to us all, that will run us flat without a thought

there is a line from an old dylan song - "now is the time for your tears"

it is too late for "your" tears

those of who have known have cried and cry

the rest of you, from government to the medical to insurance, drug companies, people who want to do things with dna before studying it long enough, poeple who watch innocent animals suffer without any concern, people who are disgusted with the homeless "bums" they see - may you come to the place where "we" are

"we" will probably help you, although you do not deserve it, because "we" have always cared and believe this is right

don't listen, don't look

you will get there
