Frass2 Pieces

Here are some more pictures of particles that apparently came from the Frass2 meteorite.  It appears to me that this meteorite broke up very high in the atmosphere, because many of the small pieces show fusion crust.  Since the fusion crust only occurs when the meteorite first enters the atmosphere, then I deduced that the pieces must have separated about the time the meteorite hit the upper atmosphere.  By the time they reach the ground, most meteorites have become air temperature.

Here is the first picture.

Notice that the particles have sand on them.  This is because these particles were recovered from a farmer's field.  In this case, I think most of the sand you see came from the farmer's field here on Earth.  This is because it is laid down over the fusion crust, where visible.  On the Frass and the Frass2, many places show where the sand has melted, because of the rock's transit through our atmosphere, after the sand was "put" into the rock.  In the next two pictures, you can see the sand laying over the fusion crust.

Here is another picture just showing some of the diversity of particles.
