Core Sample
For information on how the samples were taken, see Internal Sand.
These pictures merely show the internal structure of the rock. I believe it is the same all the way through except for the size of the vesicles, which varies greatly.
Here you can see the vesicles where the sand "rocks" samples came from. Each of these vesicles was filled with a sandy material. The larger vesicles, like the one on the left, are the ones that were still intact.
