Dear Mike 2

Dear Mike,

Hopefully you are still at this e-mail address. I apologize for the

long delay in returning your mail but I have been extremely busy with

the "Life on Mars" debate.

As for your meteorite picture, this looks to me like a piece of

welded tuff from a volcanoe, but most likely a terrestrial one,

perhaps from far far away. It would be interesting to see if a

volcanic explosion occurred the same time you remember the

"meteorite" falling (i.e., the exact date would be helpful for this).

If you haven't done so already JSC/NASA would be interested in

examining it. Marilynn Lindstrom at JSC could help with this. Call

JSC info at 281 483 0123 and ask for her number and the operator will

conect you.

Best of luck with your task.

Sincerely,

Chris Romanek
