Mike:

These are certainly lavas, but I have seen nothing yet which even

remotely suggests to me that they are martian meteorites. I think it

will take one of the following measurements to convince anybody:

(1) Oxygen isotopic analyses that demonstrate this rock lies on the Mars

mass fractionation line, or

(2) Measurement of cosmogenic isotopes that demonstrate that this rock

was exposed to cosmic rays as it traveled in space.

Neither of these measurements is "cheap" and there are only a few labs

in the world who do them well. Have you had a thin section of this rock

made? If so, I'll be happy to take a look at it and see if it has any

of the petrographic properties of SNCs, but if it doesn't, I suspect

that will not satisfy you.
