Mike,

Thank you for sending me the pictures and the last e-mail. You

certainly have a curious object. If you want to bring a couple of

small chips (of the volcanic, sandy and filamentous regions) I will

do my best to run a couple of diagnostic analyses at NASA this

summer. I want to stress here that I will be very busy while at NASA

and cannot guarantee anything. While I cannot discount an improbable

extraterrestrial origin for the object based on my limited

observations, the nature of this sample strongly suggests, and I

repeat most strongly suggests, that it is terrestrial.

I will be at Tech for two talks, one in the early afternoon and the

other in the early evening. I don't know the times for sure but you

can contact Hal Karlsson in the Dept. of Geology if you need to fing

out the exact time.

Cheers,

Chris
