The Philosophy of Life on Mars

Life probably started on Mars about the same time as on Earth. Since the asteroids and comets are the remains of ancient solar systems, life is probably scattered everywhere among them, riding along for an eternity, waiting for a chance at a new home. When life finds a place like Earth or Mars, it begins to fill every niche that it can find. On Earth, light energy was dominant and so the life of our planet has mostly arisen from creatures that first get their energy directly from the sun. But on Mars, the planet was further from the sun and the dominant form of energy was volcanic in nature. Thus, I believe that the life on Mars evolved with far more dependence on chemical energy derived from volcanoes rather than chemical energy from sunlight, as on Earth. This would mean the basic source of all food for all higher life forms, would be dependent on the biology of the base life forms, such as bacteria, that first convert non-living energy into living energy. This difference in basic evolution would probably mean that the lives that evolved from the base creatures would have difference chemistries than those of Earth which evolved from light energies. This may explain the mixed results that the Viking life experiments produced. Maybe we saw Martian life then, but just didn't recognize it because it was so different.

So life evolved on two different worlds. One world, Earth, still has lots of energy and life is still on the "upswing." A second planet, Mars, had less energy and is already on its "down side." On Mars, we now know that life evolved to a stage that would compare to insects on the planet Earth. So the question is "Does the life found within the Frass Meteorite, jive with what we know about life evolving on Earth?" I think the answer is yes.

Mars may have had oceans at one point, but it would have been early in the planet's history and they would have dried up at some time. Then the only water and heat, would have been near the active volcanoes. Everywhere water pooled bacteria-like creatures would have converted the chemical energy of the volcanoes into their own living energy. Once this process starts, then larger creatures evolve to "eat" the bacteria and then bigger things grow to eat those and maybe some learn to be "stuck" in one place (plants) and others "learned" to move about to look for their food (animals).

The Frass rock shows all the major kinds of insects we find on Earth. We have found "bug" like creatures, spider-like creatures, and worm-like creatures. All of these are creatures with an external "shell." Making a shell is a common feature in Earthly animals and I would think would apply on Mars, even more, since Mars is drier than Earth. I am very sure that some of these shelled creatures have come from within the Frass rock and therefore, I am sure that they are creatures that came with the rock.

But once the planet really began to dry and even the volcanoes were dying, wouldn't some forms of life evolve to even those conditions? The answer seems to be yes. The "glassies," as I have called them, seem to be a type of Martian life that is still capable of earning a living on the red planet, as well as, the blue planet. I have found these creatures in every nook and cranny of the Frass rock. I have found them in the very center of the rock. They seem to be able to "move" through the rock by forming these long glassy cylinders. I have found these things stretched from side to side of a vesicle, while "holding" a little "packet" of "something" in the middle. I have tried to take pictures of this, but the depth of field is just too great for my equipment and I always end up destroying the structure before I can get a good photograph. The glassies do seem to have a purpose. They seem to "know," just as fungi might "know," where to find "food" and how to get at it. They congregate around the dead bodies of older creatures, but they also seem to "eat" the rock itself, or at least the sand that is contained within the vesicles of the rock..

Thus, I think all of the life observed within the Frass Meteorite is consistent with what one would expect to evolve under those circumstances

Letter to the Planetary Institute

3029.gif (920 bytes)

Dear Sir or Madam:

I have several comments about the latest report of the planetary society.

On going to space, mankind has two choices, leave the planet or end our existence here. The planet Earth represents all of mankind's eggs in one basket. Something very large or something very small could easily endanger the entire species. The resources of Earth are limited while the resources of space are unlimited. It is much more sane for mankind to mine asteroids than to continue raping our planet.

And on the story about Mars, I think your organization is totally without intestinal fortitude. Several months ago, I sent a complete set of reports on the Frass Meteorite, the first living meteorite, to Louis Friedman. To date, he hasn't even answered my letter or let me know that he received the information. Luckily, out of all the closed-minded researchers which are now studying Mars and meteorite, there is one man who has guts and an open mind. Dr. Alan Treiman of the Lunar and Planetary Institute has now viewed the Frass Meteorite and will be submitting a report to the congressional oversight committee sometime in March. The Frass rock represent the last 50 million years of the history of Mars and has a good collection of the ancient species of Mars, as well as one species that seems to be thriving here on Earth.

The Frass Meteorite can do more to unify and excite the people about the concept of going to Mars than anything the Planetary Society has yet done. I can't understand why your organization will not help me, when our goals are so similar. The only thing that I can figure, is just a lack or open mindedness and a lack of intestinal fortitude. I hope that this situation will soon change and we can work together to help get mankind off this planet.

More information is available at my web sites: www.marslife.com www.marsmeteorite.com www.martianchronicle.com www.frassmeteorite.com and www.marsrock.org.

For the information of the public, this letter will be posted at MartianChronicle.com.

The Frass rock represents only a single sample from the entire world of Mars, yet in some ways, it may contain most of the history of Mars.  It is far too early to be sure about anything, but after looking at the Frass rock for so long and comparing that information with the few photographs we have that were taken from the surface, I am willing to describe an initial model which attempts to explain the different rocks shown above.  More information can be found at www.marsmeteorite.com.

The basic history of Mars seems to be such:  In the early days of the planet, there was much energy available and so volcanoes flowed constantly and kept the atmosphere replenished.  A number of the pictures of Mars taken from orbit, show layers where watercourses have cut through ancient material to expose these layers.  I think these layers represent the early lava flows from giant volcanoes, that essentially covered the planet with these initial layers.  These rocks are represented by number 1 in the photo and by ALH84001, the martian meteorite which is very old (4.5ga) and which contained the first signs of martian life.  These rocks would have been created under a greater atmospheric pressure and thus are more dense than later rocks.

Water and gasses would have spewed from these giant vents and the water would have collected in many different places.  The calderas of the volcanoes held water and these appear to have burst from time to time and let water out of the calderas.  If there was enough water, then there could have been oceans at the beginning.  But later, as time passes and the energy of the planet decreased,  the water receded from the oceans and concentrated around the volcanoes.  There were the large lakes in the calderas and small pools everywhere that liquid water could collect.  These pools would have been been near the volcanoes and downwind from the prevailing winds.

Over time, the main calderas went silent, but the volcanic activity continued as side vents.  On Earth, we often see where the side vents move with time.  Pictures from Mars seem to suggest this has happened and may still be happening.  These side vent flows would be occurring on a regular basis for millions of years.  These flows would cool rapidly like pillow lava and would explain the large number of round rocks on Mars.  These flows would also flow across the ancient watercourses that were created when the calderas gave up their water in cataclysmic floods.  Many of these flows occurred while Mars still had an atmosphere and thus have been exposed to water and have had time to rust.  These are the "red" rocks we see represented by the number 3 above in the picture. There seems to be an entire field of these rocks.  The Frass rock has some of these kinds of rocks and I have cleverly called them the "red" rocks.

Now rocks type 2 and 4 present a problem.  Some people think that they are sedimentary rocks and others think they are just more of the lava flow type rocks.   In the Frass rock, there is only sedimentary material that has been on the surface.   I have yet to find any sedimentary type rock, that has been under the surface of the planet and thus compressed into harder rock.  Since Mars has had such a simple history, compared to Earth, I currently don't think there is any kind of rock like sandstone, where the sand has been pushed under other material and then compressed.   So I think rock 2 is just another kind of rock 1 and that rock 4 is just another kind of rock 2.  Since the red rock flowed into sandy areas, it would have a lot of sand in it.  If it had been under water, some of this sand would be washed out.   Rock 4 appears to have undergone this process.

After the atmosphere essentially left the planet, some activity still remained.   Rock number 5 represents the gray rock that I think probably formed after there was no more water, or at least there was no water where the rock formed.  It is gray because it is made from the source material that was gray, which is rock number 1.   It has more open vesicles because it was formed with less atmospheric pressure than the red rock or rock number 1.

And finally, rock number six is a plant.  I know some of you are disappointed, but rock number six is actually the Frass rock that has been electronically altered to make it appear that it is still on Mars.  :-)  Rock number 5 would probably be a "sister rock" to rock number 6.

Subject : Life on Mars?

Gentlemen:

Silly question I suppose.  This email is to give thanks to someone who
is not afraid to express opinions contrary to conventional thought or
governmental propaganda.  Please do not make the assumption than I am
any type of anti-government loonie.  I just don't believe most of
their hype.  I found the info and pics on your sites to be instructive
and inspirational, and fortunately, not the sort of stuff perpetuated
by fringe groups who pollute our minds with unfounded thoughts,
theories, and assumptions.

As a little boy, I looked up at the night skies in awe and wonder.
And I thought that we would have a silly God if He in fact had made
millions or billions of galaxies, stars and planets, but put life on
only one planet.  He is not wasteful, and much too practical for that.

Finally we are starting to uncover some sort of proof that 'we are not
alone.'  Thank you for efforts, and thank you for getting this
information to the public.
Good luck in your endeavors, and in getting more help from the
scientific community in these endeavors.

Doug Thieleman

Dear Doug,

I can't tell you how uplifting your letter was to me today.  I have
worked years on these projects against every obstacle and I have used basically every drop of resources that I can muster and your letter makes everything worthwhile.  My goal in all of this is to become the people's philosopher so that you can trust me to open my eyes and look to find what is real in all situations.  Thus, someday, I hope to be invited to meetings at NASA and other places so that my voice can be heard and so that I can report back to the people of the world what is going on and what we are doing and why we are doing it.  The most important thing in the world for me is to have the people trust me in my search for the truth.  The essence of your letter is to tell me that I have succeed at least once, and now I only have 5,999,999,999 more people to go.  :-)  But the odds have slightly shifted in my favor because of your good will and I thank you sir for that.

Mike-

I sent another letter awhile ago, but it apparently got lost
somewhere.  I just wanted to thank you for responding to my letter and
for Aaron putting my letter on your site.  I am glad to  be of support
to you, for your info on your sites was inspiring to me.  Millions of
us have hoped and dreamed of life on other worlds.  Now we are
realizing that there is!  I can only imagine the obstacles that you
have had to face and overcome in getting your work done and
acknowledged.  As we as a people mature and open our minds and hearts
to new ideas and knowledge, we can only mature further.  As new
evidence mounts to the fact that we really don't know it all, maybe
we'll become more willing to accept new and strange ideas.  Think of
the knowledge that came from Newton and his falling apple!  Just
imagine what we will learn from a rock that fell from Mars!!! And
what, oh what, will we learn when we are able to explore the asteroid
belt.  But that is getting just a little ahead of things.  We have to
have a start somewhere, and I believe that you and Aaron are part of
that beginning.  As more people see your sites, and accept what they
see, your work and dreams will be pushed farther and farther along.
As a small part of this, I have sent links to your sites to a couple
of my buddies.  One of them responded today, and I am going to go read
what he has to say.

Good luck.

Doug

Dear Doug

If I just had a wife that was as supportive as you, I would probably already have this thing done. J Thanks for your support. It means more than you can ever imagine.

We, as a people, are maturing. All of mankind's history has been a search to understand what we see around us. Just as a child starts from no awareness and finally arises to some degree of awareness once he matures, so the whole species of human beings must also make this journey from no awareness to becoming totally aware of who and what we are.

When I was a child, I prayed two prayers. The first was that God would send me a piece of space. He answered that prayer and you now have the evidence laid before your feet. But my other prayer was always the important prayer to me, and that prayer was that God would let me do something important in the world. He has answered that prayer too, it's just that nobody knows about it yet.

I believe that a rock from Mars with life on it is important to humanity. It does represent the first direct evidence that once and for all answers the question of "are we alone?" But it seems to me, that answering that question is not nearly as important as being able to come to an understanding of what this rock really means.

In mankind's search for awareness, he has developed many scientific models that better help him understand how the world around him works. None of these models has ever dealt with gravity in any meaningful way and therefore, my claim as a philosopher, is that mankind is not yet fully aware. To be aware, we must understand the workings of gravity, which I say, must be the prime moving force of nature. The gravionic model of physical systems (GMOPS) clearly shows that all physical systems are made of energy and mass and gravity and that if we want to be mature in our thinking, we must include all of these aspects at the same time.

One of the propositions of the gravionic model is that gravity must propagate at a speed that is faster than the speed of light. Mankind has learned to use the speed of light to move information from one person to another. Thus we tend to think that all communication occurs at the speed of light. But if gravity travels at the speed of gravity (which is the speed of light squared), then wouldn't it make sense that aware beings would use the faster speed to communicate? So maybe our entire search for extraterrestrial life is being thwarted now, because we only use the speed of light to communicate information, and no one is listening there. If there are other beings out there, don't you think they would wait until we mature to contact us? If we yet do not even "know" gravity, how could we expect any respect from them?

So in the end, I think my job is much more important than bringing just this single rock to the people of this world. I prayed two prayers and God has answered both. He sent the Meteorite to me as a gift to the people of the world so that they will listen to what I have to say. But the true gift I bring is to explain how gravity works, because the connections of gravity affect and control every aspect of your life. If I can help make your life more meaningful and give you better tools in your search to understand the cosmos, then, and only then, can I do something that is really important. The gravionic model is about the bringing of mankind to a more total awareness of the cosmos in general and ourselves in particular. We live in an infinite cosmos and thus there are no limits but those we set upon ourselves. If each child can soon be taught of this infinite cosmos and just be convinced that they have no limits, then most of the world's problems will vanish.

The vast majorities of people are good and only want to do their thing and be left alone. Experience has surely taught us that when people are allowed to work freely together, the whole is always stronger than the parts. The gravionic model is about people working together to make bonds of gravity between them which increase the order and Godliness of the world. The gravionic model describes the truth as the connections of gravity and defines love as the positive exchange of energy through these connections. Thus it is the first scientific model to not only define truth and love, but show that they are a natural part of the cosmos and it is our natural duty to "help" form as many connections of love as we can.

You speak of Newton and the apple. Well my situation has become much more symbolic than even his. I guess God made an apple fall on his head, which gave him a symbolic idea. But God grabbed up the most important sample of Mars that He could find and "threw" it at me and it landed not far from where I slept. (I’m just glad God didn't get it backwards and land the apple near Newton and the rock on me. J ) But the symbolism here seems to be much more intense. This rock is much like a cosmic egg. It has the shape of an egg. It has a "shell" formed when the outer layer melted coming through the atmosphere. And it has life in the "heart" of the rock. But not only did God send this rock to Earth, but He sent it to the one person who had developed a model of gravity that resolved every known contradiction of modern science. To me it is a miracle.

Do you realize how hard it is to try to present a new model of physical systems to a bunch of universities that won't even let you walk in the door? It seems impossible. It has taken me over two years to get someone to look at my piece of space so I don't know how long it would have taken me to get notice on the gravionic model of physical systems. But once the rock is recognized as a rock from Mars, people will have to listen to me. I could have spent my whole life trying to be heard and not have a single person listen. But I think my task is important and that God has given me the situation I need so that my voice will be heard. I have always believed, as a Christian, on standing on the "rock," but I never dreamed that God would literally make my rock a "soap box."

I very much thank you for your help. Keep telling your friends and neighbors of our sites. Also, I would love to come to your community and speak of these issues and more. Lectures and license agreements are available for purchase at TheGravityStore.Com. I will always carry pieces of the Frass rock with me, so you will have an opportunity to see and touch the planet Mars.

.  The Frass Meteorite represents the last 50 plus million years of the history of the planet Mars.  It is a story of great volcanoes that "lived" for millions of years.  It is a story about great lakes that formed in the calderas of these giant volcanoes.  It is about the decline in volcanism over the years and about the creation of giant "watercourses to nowhere," when the water finally breaks through the sides of the calderas.  It is about the transition of the giant water systems to progressively smaller and smaller systems until one day 50 million years ago, we have a quiet still pool where water still hovers near the warm side vents of ancient Martian volcanoes.  The escaping water and other vapors freeze almost immediately as they reach the cold Martian surface and fall immediately back to Mars, where they are warmed back to the liquid state.  The bodies of all kinds of strange small creatures litter the landscape.  Insect like creature, with hard exoskeletons, dominate the animal life.  Pieces of plants and small "trees" with wood-like structures still lie everywhere in this perfectly preserved environment.   Small "critters" that are much like glass versions of fungi are still everywhere, feeding off the leftover resources of 4 billion years of the evolution of life on the planet Mars. Here is a recreation of that scene.

Dear Mike:  I am a meteorite researcher and college prof who has studied
seven of the known Mars meteorites.  I am surprised that NASA would not
be very interested in your find.  I will be working at JSC, Houston this
summer in Building 31 where meteorite and lunar research is carried
out.  Would be happy to do some analyses (microprobe) for you, if you're
interested.  My friends Larry Nyquist or Don Bogard could also do the
isotope ratio determinations needed to confirm a Mars origin.  What say
you?

February 3rd 1999

Dear Editor,

I hereby challenge the editors of the Amarillo Daily News and the Amarillo Globe Times to a "truth-out at the OK Corral," or "truth at twenty paces."

On numerous occasions I have tried to notify your newspaper of the important story that is brewing in the city of Amarillo. In my opinion, this story will soon become the most important story of our times. It is the story of the life of Mars, which still continues to this day in the Frass Meteorite, the first living meteorite. It is also the story of an infinite cosmos and a better understanding of our finite place in this infinite cosmos. This story is not important because it just affects the people of Amarillo, but because it directly affects the lives of every human being on this planet. The knowledge that we are not alone in this vast cosmos is one of the most important steps for mankind to make in our rise to awareness. Thus, for your newspaper to continue to hide this story from the citizens of this city, and this county, and this world is a breach of human decency.

Either what I say is true or not. If it is true, then the story is as important as I say. If I am not correct and am trying some kind of sham on humanity, then that too needs to be reported, although that would certainly be of less importance. But your oath, I would assume, is to the truth. If you care about the truth, then you must investigate this claim and determine the truth for yourself.

So here is my challenge to you. The Frass Meteorite is currently being stored here in Amarillo and is now available for viewing by any of your representatives or scientists of your choice. This may represent the only chance for your newspaper to make their own photographs and write their own stories of this rock of the ages. Until this story appears on CNN, I will cooperate in any way with your newspaper to help you arrive at the truth concerning this rock. This means you may view the rock and my evidence and have my complete cooperation in your search for the truth. However, the first open-minded scientist (Dr. Alan Treiman) has now examined the rock and his initial examination has confirmed my model of creation by side vents of an ancient Martian volcano over the last 50 million years. A tape of this meeting is available so that you may judge for yourself his comments and body language. Once the story appears on CNN, I will have to assume that your newspaper is not open-minded, and thus you will not be allowed any interviews or opportunities to photograph the meteorite. Dr. Treiman will present his report to the Congressional Oversight Committee for NASA by the end of March. This should give you a good time frame of how much time you have to act.

Since you never print my letters to the editor, I will assume you won't print this one, either. But it doesn't matter because I have a host of web sites that are growing in hits daily. It is only a matter of time until I will have more "readers" than you do. Thus I have posted this document at one of my web sites, so that my public challenge to you will not go unnoticed. Is the truth important to the people who work at your newspaper? This is your challenge and I hope you are up to this task.
