Martian Flower

A Martian Rose

This object came out of the Frass Meteorite when I took the core sample as described at marsmeteorite.com. Since this object was extracted from the portion of the rock that is over 13 million years old, this object is older than that. Rocks found within a few inches of this "rose" have been dated at 49 million years old. Notice that this object still has its full three dimensional presence. It has never been squashed, even though it is more than 13 million years old, nor has it bent fossilized or petrified. It is very delicate.

This picture is not very good, but it does show the "head" end of this "thing."  I have called it a "flower," but it could just as easily be in the animal category, since many Earthly animals have a radial symmetry similar to that above.  Here is another view of the same object.
